.
Common name: Border Forsythia
Family: Oleaceae (Olive Family)
Distribution: Asia
Hardiness: 4a
Life form: Deciduous shrub/sub-shrub
Comments: Border forsythia is a drought-tolerant, fast-growing shrub with a tendency to spread in dense clumps. It is a cross between two Chinese natives, weeping forsythia and greenstem forsythia. Brilliant yellow flowers bloom up and down the slender stems in early spring before the shrub leafs out. The cultivar 'Kolgold' has straight upright branching and is more compact at 4 feet tall and wide.
