Comments: St. John's wort is a dense, mounded deciduous shrub native to the southeast United States that grows 3 to 4 feet in width and height. In summer, bright yellow flowers with bushy center stamens bloom among blue-green leaves. The ornamental fruit ripens in fall to a reddish-brown color and is held upright above green sepals. Hypericum is used medicinally as an antidepressant and anti-inflammatory.
