.
.
Common name: Weigela
Family: Caprifoliaceae (Honeysuckle Family)
Distribution: Asia
IUCN Red list: Not evaluated
Hardiness: 4a
Life form: Deciduous shrub/sub-shrub
Comments: 'Bokashine' (a.k.a Shining Sensation) has pink funnel-shaped flowers that engulf the plant in May and June, and then sporadically bloom throughout the rest of summer. Shiny, burgundy foliage appears next, and contrasts nicely with the pink flowers. This is a fast growing shrub with a gracefully arching habit, guaranteed to add season-long color and it’s one of the first plants hummingbirds come to in the spring.
