Hemerocallis 'Happy Returns' - Daylily
.
Common name: Daylily
Family: Asphodelaceae (Grass-tree Family)
Distribution: Asia
IUCN Red list: Not evaluated
Life form: Perennial plant
Comments: Daylilies are amazingly low-mainentance and capable of surviving extended drought, though they look better with some supplemental watering in drought. They have a grass-like appearance that adds interesting texture to gardens but produce colorful blooms in summer.
With hundreds of registered cultivars, daylilies are available in many different sizes with a myriad of flower shapes, patterns and colors. Each flower only lasts a single day, but are produced daily for many weeks. Some cultivars are “reblooming” and keep producing blooms all summer.
