Comments: This willow cultivar is a compact, rounded, deciduous shrub which typically grows to 5' tall and features attractive purple stems. It has very narrow, blue-green leaves. It's also dioecious, with grayish-white male and female flowering catkins blooming in early spring before the foliage. The slender twigs are commonly used to make baskets. This shrub rows well in moist places where other shrubs may falter, including low spots or along ponds or streams.
