Comments: Smooth sumac is a large decidous shrub growing 9 to 15 feet tall and just as wide. During the fall, it presents a gorgeous show of color in shades of red and orange. The yellow-green flowers bloom in large cone-shaped clusters that, on female plants turn into bunches of showy dark red fruits. The fruit attracts birds and can be made into a lemonade-flavored drink. This plant spreads by suckers.
