Cotinus coggygria × obovaus 'Grace' - Smoke Bush
.
Common name: Smoke Bush
Family: Anacardiaceae (Cashew Family)
Distribution: North America
IUCN Red list: Not evaluated
Life form: Deciduous shrub/sub-shrub
Comments: Smoke bush gets its name from the billowy hairs attached to the elongated stalks of the spent flower clusters. These hairs turn a smoky-pink color covering the tree with fluffy, hazy, smoke-like puffs in early summer. This multi-stemmed shrub typically grows 8 to 15 feet tall and wide but can be easily pruned to a smaller size. Foliage is a mix of green and purple-red hues in spring and turns a mix of red and yellow in fall.
