Comments: This herbaceous perennial grows in full sun to light shade, with light shade enhancing the rosy-purple color of the petals during hot weather. It grows to 2.5 to 3.0 feet tall, and can spread 1.0 to 1.5 feet. Blooms June to August. Tolerates dry, shallow-rocky, or clay soil. Shoud be divided in the spring every 4 years. Grows in zones 3 to 8. Seedheads are attractive to birds.
