Ilex glabra Nordic™ - Inkberry
.
Common name: Inkberry
Family: Aquifoliaceae (Holly family)
Distribution: North America
IUCN Red list: Not evaluated
Hardiness: 3a
Life form: Evergreen shrub/sub-shrub
Comments: ‘Chamzin' is a compact, rounded, male cultivar that is commonly sold under the trade name of NORDIC. It grows 3-4’ tall and as wide. In comparison to the species, NORDIC is a more compact plant with denser growth, has darker green foliage, is less likely to sucker and is winter hardy to USDA Zone 3. Its glossy, dark green leaves usually remain attractive in winter unless temperatures dip well below zero. Greenish-white flowers appear in spring, but are relatively inconspicuous.
