Next
Common name:
Black-eyed Susan
Family:
Asteraceae (Aster Family)
Distribution:
North America
Life form:
Perennial plant
Comments:
Rudbeckias are a mainstay of ornamental horticulture. Their astounding ease of growth combined with the knockout flower display made them a longstanding favorite perennial. They’re also a pollinator favorite and food source for birds, but are unbothered by rabbits, deer and most other pests.
Golden blooms appear in mass in mid-summer and last over a month. They make great cut flowers and are great companion plants other flowers. There are many species native to the dry prairies of Oklahoma.
