Comments: Commonly called a sargent juniper, this evergreen conifer is an ideal choice for dry conditions and poor soils. It will stay very short at under two feet but spreads as much as ten feet. Female plants will produce bluish-black berries among their blue-green leaves. Sargetn junipers will provide a strong, thick groundcover in a sunny spot. Consider planting this low maintenance plant for rock gardens, erosion control and in shallow soils.
