Symphytum officinale - Comfrey
.
Common name: Comfrey
Family: Boraginaceae (Borage Family)
Distribution: Europe, Asia
Hardiness: 4a
Life form: Perennial plant
Comments: Comfrey has been grown for centuries as a general “heal all” herb. As a garden perennial it is tough performer from late spring through the intense heat of Oklahoma summers. Its small pale-pink bell shaped flowers appear in the late spring. The foliage is very appealing, its leaves are large and dark green and have a rough, hairy texture.
