Physocarpus opulifolius Tiny Wine ® Gold - Ninebark
.
Common name: Ninebark
Family: Rosaceae (Rose Family)
Distribution: North America
Life form: Deciduous shrub/sub-shrub
Comments: Ninebark is tough durable shrub native to North America. The unique exfoliating bark peels away to reveal several lighter layers, hence the name. It has clusters of pink buds that open to bright white flowers. While most ninebarks have burgundy-colored leaves, this cultivar produces bright, golden-colored foliage in spring that fades to chartreuse in summer. It also has a dwarf habit growing only 3-4 tall.
